This party wants to win seats in Parliament to push New Zealand to take a stronger stand on Palestine. They also want to build a broad movement of supporters across New Zealand. They believe New Zealand should follow international law more closely and have a more independent foreign policy, including stepping back from security alliances with the United States.
“We aim to change public opinion and put sustained parliamentary pressure on the New Zealand government to uphold its obligations under international law with respect to Palestine.”
“Justice requires the establishment of a single state in Palestine, bi-national, secular and democratic, with full and equal citizenship for all with ethnic and religious rights protected in a democratic constitution.”
“That New Zealand commit to an independent foreign policy by withdrawing itself from any formal security alliances with the U.S. and by distancing our foreign policy from the orbit of Anglo-U.S. economic hegemony and military interventionism.”
