Women’s Rights Party on Foreign Policy

The Women's Rights Party says it supports women around the world who are denied education, paid work, or political participation. It also opposes forced child marriage and violence against women internationally. The party draws attention to how war and conflict harm women, children, and the elderly through displacement, starvation, and destruction of health services. Their main focus is on domestic issues for New Zealand women and children, but they state solidarity with women globally who face restricted freedom and lack of protection.

• Stand by women everywhere denied access to education, paid work, or political participation
• Support women whose freedom of movement is restricted or who face violence, including sexualised violence
• Oppose forced marriage of children
• Raise awareness of the disproportionate impact of war and conflict on women, children, and the elderly
• Draw attention to women and children suffering starvation and famine in refugee camps as a result of wars and conflict
• Highlight the particular harm to pregnant women and mothers when health services are destroyed in conflict zones
