Wage and salary earners
Under the proposed tax scale, income up to $20,000 would be tax-free, meaning a worker earning $65,000 would keep an extra $2,408 a year.
People with net wealth above $2 million
They would pay an annual 2.5% wealth tax on the portion of their individual net wealth above $2 million.
Workers and employees
The policy proposes a 35-hour working week with no loss in pay, five weeks of annual leave, stronger union rights, and Work Councils in workplaces with more than 50 workers.
Small businesses and employers
Businesses would face a 30% corporate tax rate and stronger employment law enforcement, with meaningful penalties for breaches of employment and workplace safety law.
Regional communities
A publicly owned transport network including upgraded commuter rail is proposed to reconnect regional New Zealand and small towns to the wider economy.
